Pamplona Airport is six kilometres from the city of Pamplona. Its air traffic is primarily scheduled and domestic and therefore not very seasonal, meaning that there is little variation in the figures during the year.

Aena is investing heavily in the modernisation and transformation of the airport to satisfy future air transport demands with safety and quality. In November 2010 a new Terminal of 12,400 square metres was opened, with improved access roads and development of the area.

Pamplona Airport is certified by the Spanish Aviation Agency (Agencia Española de Aviación, AESA), according to EU Regulation 139/2014. In 2020, the airport won the Best Hygiene Measures by Region (Europe) award in the ASQ (Airport Service Quality) Awards of the Airports Council International (ACI).

  • The region also offers tourism opportunities, some of which are strongly related to air connectivity such as MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions), the health tourism sector, and the Camino de Santiago.
  • Pamplona is famous the world over for the festival of San Fermin, which takes place from 6 to 14 July and attracts a large number of visitors to the city.
