The airport of La Gomera, located in the south of the island in the municipality of Alajeró, 34 kilometres from the capital (San Sebastian), is the most modern airport of the Canary Islands.

Inaugurated in 1999, it has established itself as a vital component of exterior communication for the island's inhabitants and the tourist development of the island.
