Both distinctions demonstrate our commitment to the health measures adopted for employee and passenger safety during the Covid-19 pandemic.
There are already a total of 30 airports accredited by Airport Health Accreditation (AHA): Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas, Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat, Palma de Mallorca, Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández, Málaga-Costa del Sol, Ibiza, Menorca, Sevilla, Valencia, Bilbao, Girona-Costa Brava, Gran Canaria, Tenerife Sur, Tenerife Norte-Ciudad de La Laguna, Fuerteventura, César Manrique-Lanzarote, La Palma, El Hierro, La Gomera, A Coruña, Internacional Región de Murcia, Almería, Asturias, FGL Granada-Jaén, Jerez, Reus, Santiago-Rosalía de Castro, Seve Ballesteros-Santander, Vigo and Zaragoza.
ACI’s AHA (Airport Health Accreditation) recognises the airports’ commitment to the health measures adopted for employee and passenger safety. Among these measures, ACI has certified extra cleaning and disinfection in facilities, control of maximum capacities and adaptations of several operational processes to the new reality.
Aena has also obtained the maximum score, what is more, on the “Covid-19 Safety Ratings” programme run by Skytrax, an airport research and studies consultancy of recognised international prestige. This is the only programme designed on a world level specifically for the airport sector.
The 6 airports that received this five-star “very high standards” distinction were Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas, Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat, Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández, Málaga-Costa del Sol, Palma de Mallorca and Tenerife Norte-Ciudad de la Laguna.
