48 hours after birth

Short-haul flights

Recommendation
7 days after birth

Long-haul flights

Recommendation
21 days after birth

Important

If you’re flying with children, we recommend contacting your airline in advance so that you have all the information you might need. Requirements and specifications can vary between countries and airlines.

Infants have the right to hand luggage, which means you can carry a bag for them.

Airlines normally let you bring a stroller with you free of charge. You can take the stroller up to the airplane steps, where it will be collected by the flight attendants and stored in the hold.

Important

If you are planning to bring your own child seat with you, please check that it has been approved for use on aircraft. Take into account that, although it may be authorised, its use is up to the airline’s discretion and depends on its policy, so please make sure you always check this information in advance.
Some airlines provide child seats and cots for infants on board. Please check whether your airline provides these services.
