Girona-Costa Brava Airport is an important airport for both tourism and commercial/industrial aviation, situated close to the Costa Brava, the Pyrenees, and the cities of Girona and Barcelona (10 and 85 kilometres away, respectively).

The airport has a constantly improving terminal, where notable recent initiatives include expansion of the check-in lobby and passenger security checkpoints, creation of a new public access point for the boarding area, as well as an increased number of boarding gates, and installation and adaptation of facilities in the arrivals area.
