In the context of the Single European Sky initiative, Aena is participating in the SESAR Programme (Single European Sky ATM Research), which is the response of the aeronautical community (users, service providers, airports, industry, regulators, military authorities, pilots, controllers, research centres, etc.) defining the R&D programme to modernise air traffic control in Europe.
SESAR WAVE 2
A European Community air transport project entrusted with the development and implementation of the future common air traffic control system. It aims to implement a high-performance European ATM network stemming from the need to create an integrated vision of the evolution of the European traffic control system.
Aena participates in synchronising the implementation and deployment of SESAR projects at Airports.
The SESAR Programme deployment phase began in December 2014 when the European Commission appointed the consortium formed by members of the A6 and airline and airport associations, SESAR Deployment Alliance (SDA), as SESAR Deployment Manager (SDM).
