The airports of the Aena Group (comprising the 46 airports and two heliports in Spain, London Luton Airport and 17 airports in Brazil) closed the month of July 2025 with 38,474,698 passengers, 2.7% more than in the same month of 2024; they handled 319,591 aircraft movements, 0.9% more than in 2024; and they transported 130,508 tonnes of cargo, 10.1% more than last year.
In cumulative terms, from January to July 2025, 219,370,766 passengers passed through Aena Group airports (4.4% more than in 2024); 1,887,665 aircraft movements were recorded (+2.6%); and 843,567 tonnes of freight were transported, 6.5% more than in the same period of 2024.
Aena Airports in Spain
The airports of the Aena network in Spain closed July with 32,765,284 passengers, 2.7% more than in the same month of 2024; they handled 268,034 aircraft movements, 3.1% more than in 2024; and they transported 114,627 tonnes of cargo, up 7.5% on last year.
The passenger and operations figures represent an absolute monthly record, making July the best month in the history of the Aena network’s airports in Spain.
Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport recorded the highest number of passengers in July with 6,170,130, a growth of 0.6% compared to the same month last year. This is followed by Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat, with 5,540,010 (+2.9% compared to 2024); Palma de Mallorca, with 4,594,987 (-0.1%); Málaga-Costa del Sol, with 2,866,642 (+7.8%); Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández, with 2,106,991 (+5.9%); Ibiza, with 1,446,589 (+0.9%); Gran Canaria, with 1,286,184 (+6.4%); and Valencia, with 1,132,402 (+4.2%).
During the past month, there have been a record number of passengers at the following airports: Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas, Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat, Málaga-Costa del Sol, Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández, Valencia, Bilbao and Tenerife Norte-Ciudad de la Laguna.
In addition, a record number of passengers for the month of July was achieved at 16 airports: Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas, Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat, Málaga-Costa del Sol, Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández, Ibiza, Gran Canaria, Valencia, Tenerife Sur, César Manrique-Lanzarote, Sevilla, Bilbao, Tenerife Norte-Ciudad de La Laguna, Fuerteventura, La Gomera, Córdoba and Son Bonet.
In terms of operations, the airport with the most movements in July was Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas, with a total of 37,910 (+0.4% compared to 2024), followed by Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat, with 33,660 flights (+2.7%); Palma de Mallorca, with 31,449 (+0.7%); Málaga-Costa del Sol, with 19,814 (7.7%); Ibiza, with 13,232 (1.1%); Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández, with 12,829 (+5.7%) and Gran Canaria, with 11,472 landings and take-offs (+2.1%).
With regard to freight traffic, in the seventh month of 2025, the airport with the highest cargo volume was Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas, with 69,923 tonnes, 8.9% more than in the same month of 2024. It is followed by Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport, which recorded 18,906 tonnes (+17.6%), the month with the highest-ever freight traffic at the Catalan airport facility; Zaragoza, with 12,485 tonnes (-4.2%) and Vitoria, with 6,358 tonnes (+3%).
Between January and July 2025, 183,367,562 passengers have passed through Aena airports in Spain (4.1% more than in 2024); 1,549,173 aircraft movements were recorded (+4.5%) and 752,178 tonnes of freight were transported, 5.7% more than in the same period of 2024.
Aena Brasil Airports
The 17 airports of Aena Brasil reached 4,006,083 passengers last July, 2.2% more than in the same month of 2024. 38,530 aircraft movements were carried out, a decrease of -12.2% compared with the same month in 2024, and 13,138 tonnes of freight were transported, up 44.1% compared with the same month last year.
The group of six ANB airports (1) closed the month of July with 1,493,153 passengers (+1.3%). Recife Airport reached 874,436 passengers (+2.5%). There were 13,213 flights (-10.3%), of which Recife managed 7,057 (-13.2%). And 6,401 tonnes of freight were moved (+30.9%), of which 4,759 tonnes corresponded to Recife Airport (+21.0%).
The BOAB group of eleven airports (2) recorded 2,512,930 passengers in July (+2.8% over the same month in 2024). Among them, Congonhas Airport stands out with 2,125,631 passengers (+4.2%). A total of 25,317 flights were handled (-13.2%), of which 18,080 were at São Paulo airport
(-7.7%). And 6,737 tonnes of freight were transported (+59.2%). At Congonhas Airport in São Paulo, 5,954 tonnes were handled, 72.4% more than in the same month of the previous year.
Up to July 2025, 25,955,377 passengers (+5.7%) have passed through Aena airports in Brazil; 260,391 aircraft movements were recorded (-6.8%); and 74,016 tonnes of freight were transported, 18.5% more than in the same period in 2024.
London Luton Airport
During the month of July, 1,703,331 passengers (3) passed through London Luton Airport's London facilities, 4.2% more than in the same month in 2024. 13,027 aircraft movements were handled (+1.3%) and 2,742 tonnes of freight(4) were transported, 0.8% less than in 2024.
Between January and July 2025, 10,047,827 passengers (3) were recorded (+5.0%), 78,101 aircraft movements were handled (+1.8%) and 17,372 tonnes of freight (4) were transported (-4.2%).
Aena Brasil Network
(1) ANB - Aeroportos do Nordeste do Brasil -, which manages the airports of Recife-PE, Maceió-AL, Aracaju-SE, João Pessoa-PB, Juazeiro do Norte-CE and Campina Grande-PB, recorded 15,932,971 passengers in 2024.
(2) BOAB - Bloco dos Onze Aeroporto do Brasil -, which manages the airports of Congonhas-SP, Campo Grande-MS, Corumbá-MS, Ponta Porã-MS, Santarém-PA, Marabá-PA, Carajás-PA, Altamira-PA, Uberlândia-MG, Montes Claros-MG and Uberaba-MG, recorded 27,443,005 passengers in 2024.
