Aena Group airports recorded almost 37 million passengers in June
The airports of the Aena Group (comprising the 46 airports and two heliports in Spain, London Luton Airport, Leeds Bradford Airport and 17 airports in Brazil) closed the month of June 2026 with 36,998,573 passengers, 3.5% more than in the same month in 2025; they handled 315,153 aircraft movements, 4.8% more than in 2025; and transported 119,430 tonnes of freight, which remains stable when compared to last year.

In cumulative terms, in the first six months of 2026, 189,964,768 passengers passed through Aena Group airports (3.9% more than in 2025); 1,636,701 aircraft movements were recorded (+3.2%); and 739,612 tonnes of freight were transported, 1.2% more than in the same period of 2025. 

Aena Airports in Spain
Between January and June 2026, the airports of the Aena network in Spain have recorded a total of 156,246,234 passengers (3.7% more than in 2025), which represents a lower rate of growth than in the first six months of last year compared to 2024, when growth stood at 4.5%. In addition, 1,332,699 aircraft movements were carried out (+4%) and 664,355 tonnes of freight were transported, 4.2% more than in the same period in 2025.

The airports of the Aena network in Spain recorded 31,639,672 passengers in June, 3.8% more than in the same month of 2025; they handled 266,076 aircraft movements, 5.9% more than in June 2025; and they transported 107,503 tonnes of freight, 0.1% less than in June of last year.

At 6,087,384 passengers, Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport recorded the highest number of passengers in June, representing a growth of 4.5% compared to this month last year. It is followed by Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat, with 5,464,087 (+3.2% compared with 2025); Palma de Mallorca, with 4,297,092 (+1.6%); Málaga-Costa del Sol, with 2,771,417 (+5.3%); Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández, with 2,123,528 (+10.5%); Ibiza, with 1,300,187 (+3.2%); Gran Canaria, with 1,180,730 (+0.4%) and Valencia, with 1,174,452 (+8.8%).

In terms of operations, the airport with the most movements in June was Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas, with a total of 38,899 (+7.2% compared to 2025), followed by Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat, with 34,284 flights (+4.8%); Palma de Mallorca, with 29,730 (+2.4%); Málaga-Costa del Sol, with 19,038 (+5.5%); Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández, with 13,153 (+12.1%); Ibiza, with 11,518 (+3.2%); and Gran Canaria, with 11,434 landings and take-offs (+5.6%).

With regard to freight traffic, the airport with the highest cargo volume in June was Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas, with 66,070 tonnes, 3.8% less than in the same month of 2025. It is followed by Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport, which recorded 18,754 tonnes (+16.4%); Zaragoza Airport, with 10,048 tonnes (-5.1%); and Vitoria, with 6,220 tonnes (+7.7%). 

Aena Brasil Airports
The 17 airports of Aena Brasil reached 3,590,752 passengers last June, 1.9% less than in the same month of 2025. 36,004 aircraft movements were carried out, a decrease of 2.7% compared to the same month in 2025, and 9,845 tonnes of freight were transported, up 4.7% compared to the same month last year.

The group of six ANB airports (1) closed the month of June with 1,283,918 passengers (-1%). Among them, Recife Airport stands out with 714,608 passengers (-7.2%). There were 12,236 flights (-0.3%), of which Recife managed 6,171 (-7%). And 4,908 tonnes of freight were moved (+1.1%), of which 3,553 tonnes corresponded to Recife Airport (-4%).

The BOAB group of eleven airports(2) recorded 2,306,834 passengers (-2.4% over the same month of 2025). Among them, Congonhas Airport stands out with 1,960,680 passengers (-1.7%). A total of 23,768 flights were handled (-3.9%), of which 16,847 (-4.3%) were at São Paulo airport. And 4,937 tonnes of freight were transported (+8.6%). At Congonhas Airport in São Paulo, 4,256 tonnes were handled, 6.2% more than in the same month of the previous year.

In the first six months of 2026, 22,854,221 passengers (+4.1%) have passed through Aena airports in Brazil; 219,744 aircraft movements were recorded (-1%); and 65,168 tonnes of freight were transported, 7% more than in the same period in 2025.

London Luton Airport
During the month of June, 1,768,149 passengers(3) passed through London Luton Airport's facilities, 9.6% more than in the same month of 2025. 13,073 aircraft movements were handled (+4.8%) and 2,082 tonnes of freight(4) were transported, 15.8% less than in 2025.

During the first six months of 2026, 8,772,570 passengers (3) were recorded (+5.1%), 66,531 aircraft movements were handled (+2.2%) and 10,088 tonnes of freight (4) were transported (-31%). The decrease in freight traffic is due to the night-time closure of the runway for resurfacing works.

Leeds Bradford Airport
Leeds Bradford Airports, which became part of the Aena Group on 7 May, recorded 509,178 passengers in June, 2.2% more than in the same month of 2025 and 4,104 aircraft movements were handled (+2.8%).

From January to June 2026, 2,091,743 passengers were recorded (+3.3%) and 17,727 aircraft movements were handled (+2.7%).
