Aena Group airports recorded almost 35 million passengers in October

The airports of the Aena Group (comprising the 46 airports and two heliports in Spain, London Luton Airport and 17 airports in Brazil) closed the month of October 2025 with 35,099,396 passengers, 4.5% more than in the same month of 2024; they handled 295,929 aircraft movements, 4.3% more than in 2024; and they transported 150,175 tonnes of cargo, 9.3% more than last year. 

In cumulative terms, from January to October, 329,225,575 passengers have passed through Aena Group airports (4.1% more than in 2024); 2,795,051 aircraft movements were recorded (+2.6%); and 1,250,367 tonnes of freight were transported, 7.2% more than in the same period in 2024. 

Aena Airports in Spain
The airports of the Aena network in Spain closed October with 29,496,984 passengers, 4.4% more than in the same month in 2024; they handled 245,495 aircraft movements, 6% more than in 2024; and they transported 135,409 tonnes of freight, up 9% on October of last year.

Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport recorded the highest number of passengers in October with 6,034,971, a growth of 6.3% compared to the same month in 2024. This is followed by Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat, with 5,243,506 (+5.6% compared to 2024); Palma de Mallorca, with 3,501,199 (+0.3%); Málaga-Costa del Sol, with 2,576,610 (+6.1%); Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández, with 1,902,792 (+5.9%); Gran Canaria, with 1,324,466 (+1.8%); Tenerife Sur, with 1,163,847 (+1%); and Valencia, with 1,093,461 (+8.1%).

In October, Sevilla Airport and Ceuta Heliport recorded the best passenger figures in their history. In addition, there was a record number of passengers for October in the Aena network as a whole and in 21 airports: Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas, Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat, Palma de Mallorca, Málaga-Costa del Sol, Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández, Gran Canaria, Tenerife Sur, Valencia, Sevilla, César Manrique-Lanzarote, Bilbao, Tenerife Norte-Ciudad de La Laguna, Fuerteventura, Menorca, Asturias, Zaragoza, Melilla, Vitoria, Badajoz, Córdoba, and the heliport of Ceuta. 

In terms of operations, the airport with the most movements in October was Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas, with a total of 38,108 (+7.7% compared with 2024), followed by Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat, with 32,802 flights (+4.1%); Palma de Mallorca, with 25,768 (+1.4%); Málaga-Costa del Sol, with 17,417 (+3.9%); Gran Canaria, with 12,086 (+0.8%) and Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández, with 11,931 landings and take-offs (+6.1%).

In 2025, the best month of October was recorded for the network as a whole, as well as at 19 airports: Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat, Palma de Mallorca, Málaga-Costa Del Sol, Gran Canaria, Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández, Valencia, Ibiza, Tenerife Norte-Ciudad de La Laguna, Sevilla, César Manrique-Lanzarote, Sabadell, Fuerteventura, Federico García Lorca Granada-Jaén, Son Bonet, Burgos, Logroño, Melilla, El Hierro and La Gomera.

With regard to freight traffic, in October 2025, the airport with the highest cargo volume was Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas, with 80,497 tonnes, 10.7% more than in October 2024. It was followed by Zaragoza Airport, with 22,010 tonnes (+4.8%); Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat, with 19,130 tonnes (+12.6%); and Vitoria, with 6,372 tonnes (+0.5%). October was the best historical month in terms of cargo both in the network as a whole and at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas, Zaragoza and Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat airports. It was also the best October ever for freight traffic at Sevilla Airport.

Between January and October 2025, 276,598,393 passengers have been recorded at Aena airports in Spain (3.9% more than in 2024); 2,306,573 aircraft movements were handled, 4.4% more; and 1,116,213 tonnes of freight were transported, 6.4% more than in the first ten months of the previous year.

Aena Brasil Airports
The 17 airports of Aena Brasil reached 4,036,120 passengers in October, 4.7% more than in the same month of 2024. 38,340 aircraft movements were carried out, a decrease of 5.1% compared to the same month in 2024, and 12,132 tonnes of freight were transported, up 18.1% compared to the same month last year.

The group of six ANB airports(1) closed the month of October with 1,477,308 passengers (+4.9%). Recife Airport reached 876,393 passengers (+2.5%). There were 12,703 flights (-2.1%), of which Recife managed 7,024 (-6%). And 6,549 tonnes of freight were moved (+22.4%), of which 5,052 tonnes corresponded to Recife Airport (+14.5%).

The BOAB group of eleven airports(2) recorded 2,558,812 passengers in October (+4.6% over the same month of 2024). Among them, Congonhas Airport stands out with 2,176,654 passengers (+5.9%). A total of 25,637 flights were handled (-6.5%), of which 18,672 (-6.7%) were at São Paulo Airport. And 5,583 tonnes of freight (+13.4%) were transported; 4,827 tonnes were handled at Congonhas Airport in São Paulo; 19.5% more than in the same month of the previous year.

Between January and October 2025, 37,615,634 passengers passed through Aena airports in Brazil (+5.4%); 373,395 operations were recorded (-7.3%); and 109,074 tonnes of freight were transported, 18.8% more than in the same period in 2024.

London Luton Airport
During the month of October, 1,566,292 passengers (3) were recorded at London Luton Airport, 5.7% more than in the same month in 2024. 12,094 aircraft movements were handled (+3.6%) and 2,634 tonnes of freight(4) were transported, 8.3% less than in October 2024.

Between January and October 2025, 15,011,548 passengers (3) were recorded (+4.9%), 115,083 aircraft movements were handled (+2.2%) and 25,080 tonnes of freight (4) were transported (-3.9%).

(2) BOAB - Bloco dos Onze Aeroporto do Brasil -, which manages the airports of Congonhas-SP, Campo Grande-MS, Corumbá-MS, Ponta Porã-MS, Santarém-PA, Marabá-PA, Carajás-PA, Altamira-PA, Uberlândia-MG, Montes Claros-MG and Uberaba-MG, recorded 27,443,005 passengers in 2024.
