Palma de Mallorca Airport remodelling project
FIRST MAJOR MILESTONE: NEW LOCATION OF THE SECURITY CHECKPOINT
The first major milestone of this project is already up and running, the relocation of the security checkpoint. It is now on the same floor as check-in, behind the counters, with a logical and natural shorter route.
This new area will have 22 arches and 44 passenger security check lines, which will be gradually put into service this winter. Equipment installed in this new area is state-of-the-art, so you don't have to take out your electronic devices or liquids allowed in hand luggage, which cannot exceed 100ml.
COMPREHENSIVE AIRPORT REMODELLING
This major project is scheduled for completion in 2026; now more than halfway through its journey, it is progressing on schedule.
The work that will be carried out this winter in the central area of the airport will cause inconvenience that you will notice. We are working to reduce any bother you may experience during these months as much as possible.
SUSTAINABILITY
The reform of Palma de Mallorca Airport goes beyond improving your experience as a passenger: we are building a benchmark for sustainable aviation in Europe. There will be more natural light, installation of renewable energies, more efficient air conditioning and lighting systems, among many other actions included in Aena's Climate Action Plan, which has two ambitious objectives: to achieve carbon neutrality by 2026 and net zero emissions by 2030.
We are moving towards a more comfortable and sustainable airport.
