Route 101: Canillejas Transport Hub-Airport

City bus route 101 runs from terminals T1, T2 and T3 of the airport to the Canillejas Transport Hub, where there are connections to several city and intercity bus routes and the Madrid Metro system.

Tariffs

A single ticket costs €1.50 and is valid for one journey. You can only buy this on board the bus.

There are two types of metrobus pass:

  • Valid for 10 Metro trips in zone A, in EMT city buses (except the Línea Exprés to and from the airport) and Metro Ligero line 1: €12.20.
  • Valid for 10 Metro trips and EMT city bus trips (except Línea Exprés) with a single transfer from EMT to EMT in a maximum of 60 minutes from the first validation: €18.30.

You can buy the metrobus pass at the ticket counters or the ticket machines in the lobby of any Metro station, and in tobacconists and authorised news-stands in Madrid.

Opening hours

From Canillejas: From Monday to Saturday, from 06:00 to 23:45. Sunday and public holidays, from 07:30 to 23:45
From Barajas: From Monday to Saturday, from 06:00 to 23:25. Sunday and public holidays, from 07:30 to 23:25
Runs every 13 to 16 minutes at peak times.

Línea Exprés (line 203): Atocha railway station - Airport

Línea Exprés (the express bus) runs from the Atocha-RENFE transport hub in Madrid city centre (very near the well-known Paseo del Arte and the main museums: the Prado, Reina Sofía and Thyssen- Bornemisza) to Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport in just 40 minutes in normal traffic conditions.

Tariffs

A single ticket costs €5. Luggage is carried free. You can buy tickets (cash only) on board the bus. Change will only be given for notes of under €20.

Opening hours

24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Runs every 15-20 minutes during the day and every 35 at night.
The stop at Atocha-RENFE is not used from 23:30 to 6:00. During this period the departure point is in Plaza de la Cibeles, where there are connections for all the Municipal Transport (EMT) night buses, known as “búhos” (owls).

Route 200: Avenida de América-Airport:

City bus route 200 runs from terminals T1, T2, T3 and T4 of Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airport to the Avenida de América Transport Hub, where there are connections to several city and intercity bus routes and the Madrid Metro system.
