Corrective measures
Further information
The measures adopted to help reduce atmospheric emissions include the installation of electrical equipment on aeroplanes so that on-board systems can be maintained without the need for auxiliary power units.
Regular maintenance and safety inspections are carried out on the airport's thermal installations (boilers) to ensure that their level of emissions is in line with current legislation.
Aena vehicles also undergo the compulsory technical inspections (MOTs) required by current regulations. In order to reduce the emissions of vehicles on the apron, the airport is implementing a set of measures, such as switching to cleaner engines (natural gas, electric, Euro VI diesel, etc.) and efficient driving training courses.
