Introduction

The airport of La Gomera, located in the south of the island in the municipality of Alajero, 34 kilometres from the capital (San Sebastian), is the most modern airport of the Canary Islands.

Inaugurated in 1999, it has established itself as a vital component of exterior communication for the island's inhabitants and tourist development in the island.

In 2015 the airport dealt with 34,954 passengers, 1,818 flight operations and 1 tonn of merchandise.
