Tips for packing

At home

  • See what you can bring in the cabin and what you need to check in: hand luggage y checked-in luggage.
  • Check that you are not carrying items and goods that are not permitted for travelling due to security reasons.
  • Ask your airline about specific limitations regarding the number of objects and maximum size and weight limitations applicable to checked-in and hand luggage.
  • Always carry your valuable items (money, jewellery, electronic items, etc.) as well as medicine, important documents and money in your hand luggage.
  • Bring photocopies of all documents that you may need (tickets, passports, visas, health cards, insurance documents, driving licences) and keep them separate from their originals. If you are travelling with more people, exchange photocopies.
  • Pack some clean clothes in your hand luggage to avoid inconveniences in the event of losses or delays.
  • Pack items evenly in your suitcase, without overpacking it. Avoid packing hard items, as well as liquids and perishable goods. Weight and measurements.
  • If you need to take medication, bring with you the necessary dosage that you will need for the duration of your journey and stay, along with a prescription as proof of your need for the medication.
  • If you are travelling to risk countries, don't forget to get your vaccinations. View advice and health standards from the Ministry of Health, Consumption and Social Welfare.

Getting to the airport

  • Check the time and departure terminal for your flight: Flight info.
  • Book a parking space in the most accessible carpark near the terminal building.
  • Follow the schedule indicated by your airline. If they have not provided you with one, arrive at the airport at least 45 minutes before the time of departure announced for the flight.
  • Bear in mind that traffic congestion, potential construction work at the airport, queues at check-in desks, police verifications, security checks and transfers to boarding areas may affect this schedule.
  • Go to the check-in desks as soon as you arrive in the terminal building.
  • Once you have completed all the necessary procedures, relax and have a coffee or browse in the shops before boarding.
