Domestic flights

The following documentation is required for domestic flights, which are flights that begin and end in Spain:

  • National Identity Document or passport, not necessarily current.
  • Driving license issued in Spain.

Travellers under 14 years do not need to show documentation if travelling with a guardian.

The airline is responsible for requesting this documentation at check-in and taking the boarding pass at boarding. Although the National Air Security Plan (PNS) classifies a Spanish-issued driver's license as a valid document for domestic flights, some airlines do not accept it, so we recommend checking with your airline to find out which documentation they require under their internal regulations.

Foreigners may travel on domestic flights with their residence card or NIE under European rules.
