Aena oversees the management of areas allocated for service stations in airport surroundings: 25 service stations spread out over an area of 60,000 m2 in a total of 13 airports.
16 from the land side (open sale points with a range of services)
Land-side facilities are open-access sales points that offer a great variety of services as well as refuelling, including convenience stores, automatic tunnels and carwashes, cleaning and vacuuming areas, pressure gauges, water access... and in some cases workshop and quick mechanics services.
9 from the air side (rolling stock supply within the airport grounds)
Air-side facilities, located in the airport platforms, include automatic fuel pumps that supply the entire rolling stock that operates within the airport grounds, providing coverage for handling agent vehicles, security vehicles and also Aena vehicles.
Locations: Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas, Barcelona-El Prat, Bilbao, Gran Canaria, San Sebastián, Santiago, Menorca, La Palma, Lanzarote, Palma de Mallorca, Tenerife Sur and Asturias.
The best national brands are currently operating in the grounds and there are plans to reinforce their operations in upcoming years.
Besides from tenders for new construction projects, some of the projects concerning service stations currently in operation will soon expire. These projects will once again be open for tender. Throughout 2016:
- Four new projects in Alicante, Madrid, Málaga and Ibiza.
- Refurbishment of service in Asturias
