Operational changes

The Alicante-Elche airport in order to meet the needs created by the Covid-19 health emergency and the decline in demand, has carried out the following operational changes.

  • Check in. Check in of all flights is carried out at the desks 30 t0 41, 50 to 61, 70 to 81 and 90 to 101.
  • Boarding. Is carried out at the processor (main building), the dock remains closed.
  • Commercial services. The Pharmacy and tobacconist’s are open. Upcoming reopens: Alicante Duty Free, Parfois, Swarovski, Sunglass, Costa Coffee and Eat. The 4th of July will open Enrique Tomás Experience. The 5th of July will open WHSmith (boarding). The vending machine service is operating normally.
  • Vip services. The Vip Lounge remains closed. The Meet & Assist service is suspended. The Fast Lane service is available.
  • Car Parks.The General P1 and First Class car Parks remain open. The Long Stay Car Park remains closed.
  • Car rental. Car rental companies attend their customers at their offices at the car park and arrivals hall. Check out their opening times.
  • Public transport. Public transport to/from the airport may suffer alterations in their services. Bus passenger collection is carried out on floor -2 (basement floor 2).
  • PRM Service. Will require a pre-booking with the notice period set out in Regulation. 1107/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council, which in this case the pre-booking period of the service is 48 hours in advance and persons with reduced mobility must be at the meeting points more than 2 hours in advance of the departure of their flight.
  • The lost property service is operational.
  • Service of luggage trolleys is available. Strollers for babies service is temporarily suspended.
  • Information service.The information desk is operational during flight times.
  • Passenger pick up. The meeting point to pick up passengers is located at floor -2 (basement floor 2), central area outside the terminal building.

Temporary closure of the VIP lounge

Currently, the airport does not have a VIP Lounge, but we are working to enable a provisional room. Soon we will inform you of the opening date. Please, contact your airline in case you offer any alternative.

The Alicante-Elche airport, with passenger traffic of over 12 million people, is one of the main tourist gateways to the peninsula. Other airports in the Aena network also exceed 10 million passengers: Palma de Mallorca, Málaga-Costa del Sol, Gran Canaria and Tenerife Sur. The two largest, Madrid-Barajas Adolfo Suárez and Barcelona-El Prat, are fifth and sixth in the EU ranking.
