In line with Aena's Quality and Environment Policy, A Coruña Airport, aware that its airport activities might have an effect on the environment, has introduced an environmental management system which enabled the ISO 14001 to be obtained on 20 June 2001, and has thereby become the third Spanish airport to possess this certification.

The airport's Environmental Policy, developed via the environmental management system, aims to prevent the pollution generated by the airport's activities, products and services. Moreover, the necessary measures to minimise other impacts created by external agents are being studied and promoted. In order to raise awareness among the airport's employees, contractors and agents, this environmental policy is communicated via environmental awareness and training programmes.
