INFORMATION OF INTEREST TO THE PASSENGERS AFFECTED BY THE
INCIDENTS OF 28 JULY 2006 AT EL PRAT AIRPORT

With the aim of speeding up and simplifying the claim process, the Government has agreed the adoption of extraordinary measures:

• All those users who wish may voluntarily transfer their rights to Aena so that it may claim against those it considers responsible. In exchange for this assignment, Aena will pay them directly, and in not more than 3 months, €250 per passenger in the case of cancellation of flight, and €180 per passenger in the case of loss or destruction of baggage.
• Users may opt for this measure if they were affected by a cancellation of flight between 6:30 on the 28 July and 24:00 of the 29th by completing the corresponding claim and presenting the offer of assignment of rights and actions, duly signed, before 6 October 2006.
• The form required for acceptance of the offer, the additional documentation necessary and the list of flights of those affected may be found in the web page www.aena.es and by the free phone 900 100 405.
• The applications must be sent by certified mail to:Aena. Dirección de Operaciones y Sistemas de Red (Operations and Network Systems Management). C/ Peonías, 2 - Edificio La Piovera, 28042 Madrid.
• For those users who prefer to take individual direct action there is a specific unit of the Spanish Civil Aviation Authority of the Ministry of Public Works to process, control and follow up on the claims to companies. (pasajeros.aereo@fomento.es)

Those users who have applied to Aena for intermediary help in the claim, will be sent a letter with the necessary documentation attached.
