Getting there

Madrid-Barajas Airport is situated twelve kilometres to the northeast of the city.

Road

Madrid-Barajas Airport is connected by motorway to Madrid's main access and ring roads.

If you access T4 in a private vehicle and you are going to meet a passenger, you must leave your vehicle in the car park and, from there, walk to the arrivals lobby (ground floor). The arrivals lanes are for taxis and buses only.

Brief stops are allowed in the departures lanes (second floor) to leave suitcases and passengers and visitors. Then you must go to the exit or the car park.

Vehicles parked in unauthorised zones will be towed away immediately.

From the M-40 South:: Take exit 9A towards the M-14 / Airport.; Continue on the M-14 towards the M-13 / T4, bypassing the exits to terminals T1, T2 and T3 to the right.; Access the tunnel that links to the M-13.; Continue on the M-13. Take exit 0A. At this point, there is a fork in the road. You can choose to go to the Car park or T4 Departures.; Arrival at T4.

From the A-2:Towards Madrid and Zaragoza: direction Zaragoza, take exit 10 towards the M-14 / Airport.; Madrid direction, take exit 12 towards the M-14 / Airport.; Continue on the M-14 towards the M-13 / T4, bypassing the exits to terminals T1, T2 and T3 to the right.; Access the tunnel that links to the M-13.; Continue on the M-13. Take exit 0A. At this point, there is a fork in the road. You can choose to go to the Car park or T4 Departures.; Arrival at T4.

From the M-11:Madrid and M-40 North (exit 2B): OPTION A; Take exit 9 towards Barajas/Avda. de Logroño.; Access the roundabout. Take the exit on the left towards the M-111 / Paracuellos del Jarama.; Continue along Avda. de Logroño.; You will find another roundabout. Follow the M-111 / Paracuellos del Jarama.; Continue along this connecting section to the next roundabout.; Take the exit on the left towards the M-13 / T4.; Continue on the M-13. Take exit 0A. At this point, there is a fork in the road. You can choose to go to the Car park or T4 Departures.; Arrival at T4.

From the M-11:Madrid and M-40 North (exit 2B): OPTION B; Continue to the end of the M-11 towards Terminals T1, T2, T3, T4.; Continue on the M-14 towards the M-13 / T4, bypassing the exits to terminals T1, T2 and T3 to the right.; Access the tunnel that links to the M-13.; Continue on the M-13. Take exit 0A. At this point, there is a fork in the road. You can choose to go to the Car park or T4 Departures.; Arrival at T4.

From the A-1:Towards Madrid and Burgos: Take exit 17 towards the Airport /M-12 Barajas.; At the roundabout, take the exit on the left towards the Airport / M-12 Barajas.; Continue along the M-12 towards the Airport / M-13 Barajas.; Take exit 3 towards the Airport /M-13 all directions.; Continue on the M-13. Take exit 0 to reverse direction (cambio de sentido).; Take the exit on the left towards the M-13 / T4.; Continue along this connecting section to the next roundabout.; Take the exit on the left towards the M-13 / T4.; Continue on the M-13. Take exit 0A. At this point, there is a fork in the road. You can choose to go to the Car park or T4 Departures.; Arrival at T4.

From the M-40 South:: Take exit 8 towards the M-12 / T4.; Access the M-12 through the tunnel.; Toll: €1.60; Continue along the M-12.; Arrival at T4.

From the A-2: Towards Madrid and Zaragoza: Towards Zaragoza, take exit 10 towards the M-14 / Aeropuerto.; Towards Madrid, take extomar exit 12 towards the M-14 / Aeropuerto.; Continue along this link section towards the M-40 North / M-12 T4.; Take exit 10 to link with the M-40 towards the A1 /M-12 T4.; Continue along the M-40 in the right-hand lane towards the M-12 T4.; Take exit 8 towards the M-12; Access the M-12 through the tunnel.; Toll: €1.60; Continue along the M-12.; Arrival at T4.

From the M-11: Madrid and M-40 North (exit 2B): Take exit 7 towards the M-12 / T4.; Continue along the M-12.; Toll: €1.60; Continue along the M-12.; Arrival at T4.

From the A-1: Towards Madrid and Burgos: Take exit 17 towards the Airport/M-12 Barajas; At the roundabout, take the left exit towards the Airport / M-12 Barajas.; Continue along the M-12.; Take exit 7 towards the Terminal T4/M-12; Toll: €1.60; Continue along the M-12.; Arrival at T4.

From the R-2 (M-50): Towards Madrid: Take exit 3 towards the R-2 / Airport.; Toll: €0.85.; Follow the R-2 towards the M-12 / Airport.; Take exit 5A towards the M-12 / Airport.; Toll: €1.60; Continue along the M -12 and take the exit for the Airport Terminal T4.; Arrival at T4.

From the M-40:: Take exit 9A towards the M-14 / Airport.; Continue along the M-14. Access each terminal by its corresponding exit.; Arrival at T1, T2 or T3.

From A-2:Towards Madrid and Zaragoza: Towards Zaragoza, take exit 10 towards the M-14 / Aeropuerto.; Towards Madrid, take extomar exit 12 towards the M-14 / Aeropuerto.; Continue along the M-14. Access each terminal by its corresponding exit.; Arrival at T1, T2 or T3.

From the M-11: Madrid and M-40 North (exit 2B): Follow the M -11 to the end towards the Airport / Terminals T1, T2, T3 and T4.; Continue along the M-14. Access each terminal by its corresponding exit.; Arrival at T1, T2 or T3.

A-2:Madrid-Barcelona motorway

A-1:Madrid-Burgos motorway

M-40:Madrid ring road.

M-11:access motorway to the airport. This joins up with the M-40 (exit 2B) in the north of Madrid and then with the M-12 and M-14.

M-12 (North-South Line):toll motorway with direct access to T4. It extends between the M-40 South, at the Parque Juan Carlos I exit, and the M-110 to Alcobendas. It is connected to the M-11, M-13 and R-2 toll motorway.

M-13 (East-West Line): this joins up with the M-14 and M-12. The connection to the M-111, the Barajas-Paracuellos motorway, is via a roundabout, which in turn is connected to the interior network of the South Section of T4.

M-14 (Trunk road):this has direct access to the existing terminals T1, T2 and T3, from the M-40 and A 2, and to T4 via the connection with the M-13.
