We ensure quality in air traffic co-ordination and in aeronautical information systems.


ISO 9001:2000 Certification

The Aeronautical Information Division (AIS España), in representation of the State Civil Aviation authorities, is the entity in charge of providing the Aeronautical Information Service, being responsible for receiving and/or originating, collating or assembling, editing, formatting, publishing/storing and distributing the necessary aeronautical information/data in order to guarantee safety, regularity and efficiency for Air Navigation in Spain.

In accordance with ICAO Annex 15, having established an objective for improving its services and guaranteeing the quality of the published data, the Spanish Aeronautical Information Service considered that a Quality Control System needed to be defined and implemented.

Following ICAO recommendations about ISO9000 certification, the Aeronautical Information Division (AIS España) Quality System is certified since 1999.

The certification includes the following activities:

  • Receiving / originating, collating or assembling, editing, formatting, publishing / storing and distributing aeronautical information / data contained in:
    • Integrated Aeronautical Information Package (AIP, AIP Amendments, AIP Supplements, AIC, NOTAM and PIB, NOTAM Checklists and Summaries)
    • VFR Manual and its amendments
    • Aeronautical Charts
    • Technical Papers, Standards and Handbooks.
  • Sales and/or distribution of self-made AIS and ICAO products.

The established Quality Management System provides the users with the necessary guarantee and confidence that the distributed aeronautical information / data satisfies the stated requirements for quality, thus encouraging client satisfaction through the effective application of the System and promoting measures with the aim to obtain the continuous improvement for the quality processes such as the continuous selection of Quality involved providers, prevention of  No Conformities, correct management of complaints and claims, measurement through indicators suitable for each process, continuous staff training and the promotion of innovation and technological development and implementation.
