Functions

The work involved with automating air traffic control using nine subsystems.

SACTA Subsystems

The complex air traffic control automation system, using other subsystems, performs the following functions:

  • Process all the information relating to flight plans.
  • Provide traffic planning aid tools.
  • Process all the information relating to the radar information received.
  • Calculate runways and meteorological maps.
  • Analyse the possible calculated route changes, alerting the controller in real time.
  • Indicate the current and future meteorological conditions.
  • Provide all the aeronautical information needed to control air traffic (air navigation help status and restricted areas for air traffic control).
