New VFR chart for Madrid TMA
Next September 20th 2012 will come into force the new VFR chart for Madrid TMA whose design is undertaken from the restructure of Madrid TMA. This will provide a volume of uncontrolled airspace under the TMA where VFR traffic can move freely.

Flight Plan and ATFCM adherence
The growth in European air traffic has led to a need for greater airspace capacity to increase efficiency and reduce delay. To meet capacity demands in the short-term through a network focused approach the Dynamic Management of the European Airspace Network (DMEAN) consolidates a number of current ATM developments and improved information processes. Altogether, the Flight Efficiency Plan (FEP) initiative from EUROCONTROL/ CANSO/IATA puts emphasis on flight efficiency such as airspace design and the utilization of the available capacity of airspace (en-route & TMAs) and airports.

Skybrary - Stabilised Approach Awareness Toolkit for ATC
Skybrary makes available to the general public a set of tools that are designed for air traffic controllers awareness on stabilized approaches. This aid has been developed jointly by CANSO (Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation), Eurcontrol, the Flight Safety Foundation and Cotswold Airport.

New manoeuvres for aborted landings at Madrid-Barajas
After analysing various safety incidents in the Madrid TMA, a new design was drawn up to modify aborted landings at LEMD, which came into force on 15 december.
